The processes in the diagram increase ground-level ozone. Many of these processes are regulated by the United States Envirnonmental Protection Agency, such as the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards, the Regional Transport Rule, and the 2004 Clean Air Nonroad Diesel Rule. There are also organizations that exist to promote programs that help reduce the ground ozone level, such as the National Clean Diesel Campaign.
